If you think you’ve “seen it all”, you probably just haven’t had the right contrast yet. That is exactly what this tour is about: two banks of the Dniester, three different moods and one long, incredibly eventful story.
First comes Tiraspol. A city where different eras and symbols coexist peacefully in the same square, creating that strange feeling of “I’ve seen something like this before…”. The point here is not to “laugh at the past”, but to look closely at how it is built into the city — and why sometimes it simply refuses to let go.
Next comes Bender Fortress. It really is a “relative” of Akkerman, only with a character of its own: walls, bastions, heroes, intrigues and stories that sound especially convincing in the very place where they happened.
The finale is Purcari. After fortress walls, it is time to move on to another culture of ageing — wine. A winery that manages to be beautiful, serious and delicious all at once. The tasting here is not about “just trying some wine”, but about putting the right full stop at the end of the day: aromatic, memorable and with a proper aftertaste.
This is not a tour about simply “going somewhere”. It is about understanding, feeling and remembering. Odesa likes stories like this — the kind that make you think, smile and bring home more than just photos.
Tour program
- Start: Transfiguration Cathedral (3 Cathedral Square) 8:00 — departure from Odesa. A full day with character lies ahead: the road, the stories and three stops you definitely won’t confuse with anything else.
- Transfer Odesa → Tiraspol 8:00–11:00 — transfer with commentary along the way. Expect context, legends and conversations that bring the route to life.
- Tiraspol 11:00–12:30 — sightseeing tour of the city: its atmosphere, architecture and details that create its distinctive character.
- Lunch at a Traditional Restaurant 12:30–13:30 — a relaxed break for a tasty lunch. Because impressions are best absorbed under the right conditions.
- Transfer to Bender Fortress 14:00–14:30 — a short transfer. Time to get ready for stone walls, towers and stories that speak a little louder.
- Bender Fortress 14:30–16:00 — guided tour of the fortress: walls, bastions, legends and the feeling that time moves differently here.
- Transfer Bender → Purcari 16:00–17:30 — journey towards the final highlight of the day. After a fortress, wine somehow feels even more appropriate.
- Purcari Winery 17:30–19:00 — guided tour and tasting. Tradition, history and that perfect moment when you realise the day has been beautifully spent.
- Return to Odesa 19:00–21:00 — transfer from Purcari to Odesa. Back home with a pleasant aftertaste and exactly the right collection of memories.

We recommend bringing
Dress comfortably and for the weather: comfortable shoes are a must, as the day includes not only bus travel but also walking at several stops. Bring water and, if needed, a hat — the sun outside the city tends to be even more direct. Make sure your phone is fully charged: beautiful views will appear far more often than power sockets. And you can leave the good mood at home — it usually shows up on its own along the way.

Frequently asked questions about the tour
Do I need a passport?
Yes. This trip includes Moldova and Transnistria, so a valid passport is required. It’s best to check the expiry date in advance.
Is Tiraspol safe? Is the tour suitable for children?
The route is organised specifically for tourists and covers central areas and established sightseeing locations. The pace is relaxed, with no “extreme scenarios”.
What makes this tour different from other day trips?
It’s all about contrast. Tiraspol offers a unique atmosphere, Bender Fortress brings historical depth, and Purcari adds European elegance. The day unfolds as one complete story rather than just a collection of stops.
How long does the journey take? Is it too tiring?
The day is full, but well balanced. Travel time alternates with guided tours and a lunch break, so the pace stays comfortable and the day doesn’t feel exhausting.
How can I pay for the tour?
You can pay for the tour:
- online through our website
- by bank card transfer (our managers will send the payment details by SMS)
- in cash at our office,or directly to the guide during the tour
What are the cancellation and refund terms if your plans suddenly take a different turn?
We understand — life can be a bit like an Odesa tram, suddenly changing its route. If you cancel the booking yourself and let us know in advance, the refund will be as follows:
- 7 calendar days before the event — 100% of the full price will be refunded
- 72 hours before the event starts — 50% will be refunded
- 1 day before the event — 25% will be refunded
Where do we meet, and how do I know it’s our bus and guide — not just someone else standing there looking important?
The meeting point is listed on the tour page and in your booking confirmation. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early — that gives you enough time to find the group and still look like you were the first one there.
What should I wear and bring with me, besides a good mood (which is highly recommended too)?
Comfortable shoes are a must. Water is recommended. In summer — bring a hat and sun protection; in cooler seasons — a jacket suitable for the weather. If you’re planning to take lots of photos — charge your phone: Odesa knows how to fill up your memory fast.
